For my work I am trying to remotely edit on a Lightroom catalog. It is located on a shared network volume that I have remote access to, in which I can access the images, but it won't let me open the catalog and gives the error message that "Lightroom Catalogs can not be opened on network volumes, removable storage, or read only volumes." What is the best solution to this?

Images can be on the network drive. However, the catalog must be local to the computer you are using. You could use a small external hard drive and have the catalog installed on that drive and carry it with you. Or, if you are using the same laptop computer the catalog could reside on the laptop hard drive.
