Hi there,
when I am traveling I like to edit the photos I take with my DSLR on my phone. Therefore I send JPGs from the camera to the phone (RAW is not possible), import them into Lightroom Mobile, do my edits, etc.
Back home I now want to sync my LR Mobile photos to Lightroom Classic, so I already have all the adjustments that I made on the go. Now as a last step I want to replace my JPGs with my RAW files, but I can't figure out how to do it in an easy way.
Sure, I can relink every image manually, but that takes forever. There must be a better way, right?
Please help me! Thanks in advance! 🙂
Best regards,
Imanuel
You can't replace jpg images by raw images, but you can copy the develop settings from jpg to raw after you have imported both (and delete the jpg images after you copied these settings). You would need a plugin to do this. Do remember that develop settings for jpg and raw will unlikely be the same. Jpg images are already processed by the camera, raw images are not.
Thank you, this plugin is exactly what I was looking for!!
Nevertheless I also found a way that uses no plugin, but definitely takes more time:
- Convert edited JPGs to DNG
- Convert RAW files to DNG (before ARW)
- Make sure both have the same name
- Update folder location from edited JPGs to RAW folder
