Since the recent release, I have been getting this message "writing Metadata Changes into XMP. Please wait until the process is complete" When I close LRCC. I have "automatically write changes into XMP" set in the catalog settings so I don't understand why it gives me this message and makes closing LRCC so slow. Is there a way to change this?

When you select the option to automatically write changes to XMP, not only are the changes written to the catalog, but the changes are also written to an external file for native raw files as well as to DNG files. And the changes are also written directly to non-raw files. Depending on the number of changes you have made and to the numbers of images that have been modified, that can require some additional time. It also will depend on the speed of your computer and the speed of your hard drive. Many users prefer to use that option. It is a good option. Personally, I have chosen to just rely on the catalog and not choose that option. But that is my choice.

I have the same issue. This is new behavior and it can't be right. On Version 13.0.1. When I quit LR I get this message and it takes between 1 and 5 minutes every time even if, after the process is complete and LR closes, I immediately reopen it and close it without making ANY changes. I do have "Automatically save metadata to XMP set to on. Previously it would allow me to exit before XMP writing was complete and it would say the process will pick up again the next time I opened LR.
Thanks!
