P: Create a smart collection to search 'history' in the Development mode

I was trying to create a Smart Collection to search and identify all my photos ithat I have uploaded to Flickr.  Flicker photos are identifed as such in the 'History' section in the devlopment mode with the following: Publish - Flickr (16/8/2023 09:26:15).  A Smart collection, it seems, is unable to read this identification marker.

I suggest that a future edition of Lightroom could have this feature.

Thanks

While many have asked for the ability to search History, you don't need that for your use case. You can find all photos published with a particular publish service using the Published Via criterion:

Hi Johnrellis,

As seen below I have followed your suggestion, with no success. Any other ideas?

Your screenshot shows your smart collection using the Publish Collection criterion, rather than Publish Via:

Publish Via matches against the name you assigned to the instance of the Flickr publish service. You can see that name to the right of "Flickr:" in the Publish Services panel in the left column of Library ("John's Flickr" in the example below):

Hi Johnrellis,

Update:

I uninstalled LRC, reinstalled it, (through Publishing manager) doubled check the Flickr name and connection. The previous error messages have disapared! The problem of creating a smart collection is still problematic.

Has anyone had success in creating a smart collection identifying flickr uploads?

Cheers

Hmm, the Published Via criterion is working in my catalogs:

At this point, I think the most effective way to troubleshoot this:

1. Do Catalog Settings > Show, which will open Finder on the catalog folder.

2. Compress the catalog .lrcat file.

3. Upload the compressed file to Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar and send me a private message with the sharing link.

Hi Johnrellis,

Again thanks for your help in solving this issue.

This is what I have done:

1.) Uninstall and the reinstalled Lightroom

2.) Deleted the Flickr Smart Collection

3.) Created a new Flickr Smart Collection

4.) Through the Publishing Manager deleted the Flickr App

5.) Created and authorised a new Flickr App

Since completing the above, all my previous Lightroom published photos no longer appear in the Flickr service app, although all my photos remain on my Flickr account.

Using the Flickr App, I uploaded two new photos.

1.) I checked if they were up loaded to my Flickr account- they were.

2.)They were identified in the Smart Collection.

While I cannot currently see through Lightroom my previously uploaded photos, I am not getting the previously mentioned error messages.

Yes would like the Smart collection to find all the previous photos. It seems that this can only happen if a smart collection can access/view the 'History' section in the Development Mode. I think it is now up to the Lightroom Program Engineers to come up with a solution.

Again JohnRellis thanks for your help.

Cheers

No, the Published Via criterion looks for photos contained in published collections contained within the publishing service.
