As a 15 year veteran of Lightroom, this is one which would greatly help speed up the workflow process.

The idea:

  • Have a section for edit requests within the Development Module to:
    • Have the ability to Add requests for image editing from clients or team leader. (we would be typing in the requests or pasting them in.)
    • Have the ability to make notes on each request
      • for instance: you can make comments like - I am able to do this request with some modifications.
      • Make comments on what was done to achieve the edit requests.
    • Have the ability to check off requests as they are completed.
    • Have a timer start button for each request,
    • Have a timer stop when they are checked off as complete.

Why the development module?

Better efficiency means better productivity.

In a typical workflow sequence, once images have been selected and filtered, there is no reason to move out of the development module until work is complete.

Having to go back into, say, the library module and look under meda for request is merely a compromise and wastes an inordinate amount of time. In any case, none of the medadata Fields provide a way to check off what has been done, and no way to tell timewise how much time has been spent on that particular edit.

Would love to hear back from the community what do you think?

Cheers!
