I'm on Mac (M1 Max with 64 GB RAM) , and RAW display performance is really painfully slow, about 1.5 s for a random jump in Raw mode.
Adobe asks me for years what to improve, and I would just like to point them to (relatively cheap) competition:
Meet FastRawViewer, which
- displays images directly from RAW within fractions of a second
- has useful helper functions to quickly check focus plane and sharpness
- and also allows to quickly inspect highlights and shadows
In combination, this speeds up image culling to less than half the time it needs in LR. I would expect these from the software company with the biggest development budget in the industry.
Lightroom was the only tool I used to use. Now I use other tools for key processes, like FastRawViewer for culling and DXO Pure Raw for developing.
