P: Export Slideshow as an InDesign Document

I have made multiple requests over the years to improve the handling of the presentation of metadata with images.

This applies especially to the Slideshow and Print Modules.

It is depressing that this feature is missing. Even more depressing :

  1. There is no interface between Lightroom Classic and InDesign.
  2. The InDesign / Photoshop data merge feature is so bug ridden and lacks the most basic of usability features.

The following idea is a potential solution which will go a long way towards addressing these gaps while providing much needed functionality.

Proposal.

Provide an extra option within the Slide Show module to export a Slideshow as an InDesign document (Indd).

The slideshow module already allows exporting to a Pdf, Video and as a series of jpgs. It should be a very modest exercise to extend this to export a slide show as an Indd file.  The requirements are simple. Just include a page for every image in a slideshow and on that page include objects for the image and each text box item.

This would allow a user fine tune any slideshow, especially catering for slides with awkward or multiline Titles and Captions.  Further, it would allow many users of Lightroom to prepare professional grade presentation of their images.
