P: indicate the number of person(s) appearing

Hi!

I need to indicate the number of person(s) appearing on every picture of a (rather big ) set og photographs.  I do not need to identify them, juste count. 

Since the IA can identify people, I suppose it can determine how many of them are visible on a picture?

This would greatly help the classification and tagging of my pictures, since this informatiion is an important search criteria.

While waiting for Adobe to implement this, you could use the Any Filter plugin to show the number of faces in photos:

You'll have to enable LR's Face Detection and let it complete overnight.  Of course, the number of recognized faces won't be identical to the number of people identified by masking, since they use different AI models looking for somewhat different things.
