P: Shortcut to Toggle Fit View While Editing Masks

This seems like a no-brainer... to be able to toggle between any zoomed position and Fit View while editing. Often I'm zoomed in while working on refining a mask and need to view the full image, then toggle back again. But there's no shortcut key for Fit view. You have to click on "Fit" in the Navigator or Hit Cmd - several times. Although it zooms out, it doesn't go to Fit view. You should be able to press the number "0" to always return to Fit view.

Hiya CannaPics!
That's mad annoying lol
You can actually set a custom shortcut for Fit View in Photoshop. Here's how:

  • Go to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts.
  • In the Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus dialog box, select "Shortcuts For: Tools" from the drop-down menu.
  • Expand "Zoom" from the list of tools.
  • Look for "Fit on Screen" and click on the blank area next to it to add a shortcut.
  • Press the key or key combination you want to use for the shortcut (such as the number "0" for Fit View).
  • Click "OK" to save the shortcut.

Now you can use your custom shortcut to toggle between any zoomed position and Fit View while editing masks.
Highest regards,

The only problem is you're suggestion is for the wrong application. That doesn't exist in Lightroom CC, does it?

Yes, you can use the "0" key to toggle Fit view while editing masks in Photoshop. This shortcut works in both the latest version of Photoshop and Lightroom CC. Additionally, you can press "Cmd+0" (Mac) or "Ctrl+0" (Windows) to fit the entire image on your screen. Also another user was mentioning Fill, another option for zoom.

Do you see Fill? Fit and Fill are now popup menus in the same location. One of the "improvements" Adobe made despite nobody asking for that.

Keep me posted,

There is simply no shortcut for Fit View in Lightroom IDAC, I misspoke when I referenced Lightroom CC. I meant Classic. The shortcut "0" in Lightroom Classic gives the photo a rating of 0. Cmd 0 is also not a shortcut for Fit view. Like I said, it would be great if Adobe gave us a shortcut for Fit View in Lightroom Classic while editing masks.

You can toggle between the current zoom and Fit using Z or the space key:

The "Z" key shortcut worked. Finally, someone who knows the correct answer. Thanks so much!
