It would be an asset to support Live View in Tethered Capture. In my case, it would be for Nikon D750, but I am sure many others would love that feature too

Yes, it would be great if we had live view and the ability to shoot video while tethered. I shoot how-to videos alone and without live view I need an extra person to focus the camera on me. At the moment I'm using other free ware software but I'd love to be able to use an Adobe supported software.

Yes, PLEASE! Live view (on the computer screen, not the camera screen) is the whole reason I want to tether in the first place! (Nikon 7200)

I'm not sure if this has been asked before but I can't find any reference. Are there any updates to future Lightroom Classic releases that will allow live view whilst in tether mode? I've tried free plugins which are not reliable but Capture One has this feature. I don't want to have to use Capture One just for this single feature.

As far as I know LR does not have the ability to show live view. A colleague of mine purchased Capture One to be able to have live view.

I am using Sony cameras because my first DSRL had been a Sony Aplha 100.
Today I'm working with a Sony A 77 II.

For Sony cameras it's even worse: there is not tethered capture at all.
I really like to work with Lightroom...

...but if the performance stays at this level (working with 24M images on a 4k Monitor is quite slow) then I will have to switch to Capture One, too.

I have canon 5ds i use lightroom cc the new one, but i recently bought some lens baby and  manual focus camera lenses.
For portraits and camera tethered to my lightroom i have to use the viewfinder on camera to focus manually set up shot then take the photo with the button on my laptop but this is no good for me,
Using canons eos program it has a live view, instead of using viewfinder. i can choose live zoom at x6 and make sure using a sweet 35 lens i get the focus and sweet spot nailed first time, after taking with lightroom i then have to review it after I've taken it
support told me it can't be done, so the only point in tethering is sending image taken direct to laptop
i want when tethered a pop up screen showing the image on my laptop, before i take it
im now having to use both programs and more doubling the time it takes
surly tethering with a pre shot image for studio portrait commercially  would be a benefit to those in business

Several other tethering apps offer live view and as others have mentioned – it's such a valuable tool for when setting up a food scene or other product photography.

I want to stay with Lightroom and not migrate.

Hi Rikk,
I'm a Mac user with a Nikon D610 and a Sony a6000.  Please add me to the list for testing when Nikon especially, and Sony cameras are added.  My contact is jeniferdesign@gmail.com

Rikk,
I work with a Canon 5Ds and a MacBook Pro. I have had nothing but constant issues trying to get it tethered to Lightroom, so I've been working with Capture One instead. However, I'd love to make the change over if the software issue can be fixed.

Hey, on Windows I was using Digi Cam Control  http://digicamcontrol.com/ it's great, there's a bit of a learning curve tho. Then I switched to Mac and so now I use Smart Shooter 3, also very good  https://kuvacode.com/smart-shooter

You'll need to check for compatibility, if you have a Nikon or a Canon then you should be good to go.

I shoot architecture and events...would be great if there was a way to shoot the event tethered with LR CC to Canon camera and then have the ability for the client to log in and be able to use the photos while the event was taking place.  That would be amazing!

Yes please. I shoot product photography with a Canon 5D mark iii, tethered to an iMac (OS Sierra). Using EOS Utility is fine, but not compatible with PNG. Would be great to see and composite layout based on text location as i'm shooting.

I would love the opportunity to test and work with the tether prerelease with my Canon, iMac and Photoshop/Lightroom! This will make my food photography work flow so much faster.
