Adobe allowed its license for the third-party face recognition module used in LR 6 to expire in December, and that causes crashes and other problems.  See this bug report for possible workarounds: https://feedback.photoshop.com/conversations/lightroom-classic/lightroom-classic-version-6-crashes-in-the-facial-recognition-module/5fd510567288d52d004c42d6  Please add your constructive opinion to the bug report, and be sure to click Like and Follow at the bottom of the first post. I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Lightroom forum so that proper help can be offered.

Please add your constructive opinion to the bug report, and be sure to click Like and Follow at the bottom of the first post. That will make it a little more likely that Adobe might prioritize a fix, and you'll be notified when the bug's status changes. Note that Adobe's initial position on this issue is that LR 6 is very old and no longer supported, so no fix will be forthcoming. But it's conceivable they'd change their mind if enough people complained.
