Accessing desktop photos from surface tablet wirelessly

It's sometimes easier to use my Surface Pro 7 than my Windows 10 desktop at home. What I would like to do is access my catalog and files from my desktop, which has 100k photos over a few drives to view and work on without automatically syncing things. Lightroom not-classic isn't a great option for me at home.

In short do whatever I need to do on the Surface with files on my desktop.

Can this be done and what would be the best way. BTW, networking skills = 0.

Windows 10pro on desktop

Windows 10 Home on tablet.

The only way to do that is to use Remote Desktop, or somthing similar, to log into your desktop computer and display that computers screen on your Surface Pro computer.

Or if you can install LrC on that MS Surface Pro system (you can't on one of the newrer versions of the surface pro) then copy all your image files and the catalog file to an external drive and move that external drive from computer to computer.

You can't open/load/access the LrC catalog across a network.

But you can access images file across your LAN.

You have to have the catalog file on the computer that you are using LrC on.
