Hi there,

That shouldn't be happening, lets' make it right.

As you're seeing gray thumbnails in Lightroom, could you please let us know the version of Lightroom and the operating system you're working with?

Also, try associating sRGB IEC61966-2.1 Color profile on your system, please check this article for steps: Photos appear as black, gray, or blank rectangles in Lightroom

Regards,
Sahil

From what you describe this may help:

  1. There is a problem with the GPU.Go to Preferences > Performance, and uncheck Use graphics processor.
  2. The Develop previews are corrupted.Go to Preferences > Performance > Camera Raw cache settings, and click the Purge cache button.
  3. You have a defective monitor profile.Try setting the monitor profile to sRGB (use Adobe RGB if you have a wide gamut monitor).http://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-change-my-monitor-profile-to-check-wh ether-its... If this fixes the problem, you should ideally calibrate your monitor with a hardware calibrator.
