All Lightroom files missing!!

Help!!!

 

I went to launch Lightroom to work on photos today and EVERYthing is gone! Recent catalogs, presets, everything is missing!! What do I do to restore it?!

My first suspicion would be that you have opened a new catalog. If you are on a Mac then go to Lightroom->Open Recent and see if there is another catalog listed that you can choose.

Can you please post your LR version and OS platform thanks?

Also your storage strategy in practice : external disks etc.

Could it be possible that a system update occurred in the background in the time before last use?

Yes, Lightroom definitely created a new catatog. If there is no 'recent catalogs' list, then the preferences could have been whiped. Just go into your Pictures folder and look for a folder with 'Lightroom' in its name. Catalog files have a .lrcat extension. Lightroom just created a new one, so look for one with a slightly older date and a bigger file size.
