Hi,

I use an external hard drive (Lacie Rugged 1TB) to edit from as I use both my laptop & desktop computer. My laptop seems to handle the catalog perfectly fine but my desktop has been having issues randomely. Sometimes it works, sometimes I get the following error when I go in to edit.

Lightroom Error 1.png

My laptop is a Razor Blade 15" 2019 Base Model and my desktop is a custom built PC.
 - Gigabyte X570 Mobo

 - Ryzen 3800x

 - MSI Gaming X 2060 Super

 - Corsair Vengeance 32gb RAM

 - Windows 10 64

 - All drivers up to date

I also get an Assertion Error! when I try to create a new catalog on my desktop PC.

This catalog has 3+ years of client work so please help me fix this issue or find what might be the root problem.

Try posting that over at the official Adobe Feedback site, where actual Adobe Techs respond:

When you do include your System Info (as requested in my next reply)

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.
