Hi, when importing photos to library activity grows up to almost 90% and battery gets less and less. What can be reason for it?

MacBook Pro (15 Zoll, 2019),

2,3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9,

16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4

Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

If you need more information tell me please

Thanks in advance for help

Jörg

P.S. Sorry for my bad English 😉

The reason is that Lightroom has to do a lot of work when you import files. Not only does it need to copy those files, it also generates previews for them which means it reads them into memory, does some basic processing and creates a jpeg preview that is written to disk.

As above the battery in your Mac is going down in the charge percentage because the computer is doing more work than normal.

This is completely normal. Try connecting to a AC power source when you can when importing images into the LrC catalog.
