With respect Gilles, 15Mb file is a quite a small file to edit.

Lightroom should not be choking on that, and from past posts I have seen users in this forum editing much larger files.

What is curious is that your machine specs seem to exceed the Adobe requirement, and you would think that things would be easier for you.

How have you set up your image storage system for your original image files?

Helo Tony and thank you for your answer.

Thank you very much.  Have a nice day

Someone else on the Forum might know if a 64bit OS affects performance with Lightroom.

I'm not sure.

Often when I work a photo, my screen and my program seems to slow down, the screen turns black and I can no longer work, I have to wait, everything is slow. What is the point, is there a solution? I work on pretty heavy photos, 15MB average made with a nikon D850 and my computer has a 1TB SSD, 4K screen, GTX 1660 TI graphics card, I5 processor, 16GB RAM memory, 64-bit operating system on window 10. Can someone tell me what's going on?

Try to disable the GPU.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Performance, and set Use graphics processor to Off.

If this fixes the problem, update your graphics driver, and then try to turn the GPU back on.
