Hiding is a word that allows many degrees of interpretation.
For example, if you just want a photo (or photos plural) to not appear temporarily, you could simply set a filter and poof! The photos don't appear, until you or someone else turns off the filter.
If you are working on photos and you no longer want to see the photos you have worked on, for example, you could assign them a red color label and then filter for all photos except those with a red color label. Your photos are still available in Lightroom with the work you have done, you just don't see them as long as the filter is turned on.
Is that helpful, or do you have a different meaning of "hide"?

Thank you... I have 10,00 images that I am sorting out....I don't want to
delete the ones I have worked on but want to just see what I have left....
So I had thought of just a filter... that might be the easiest way.... just
didn't know if there was a setting that once I worked on something it would
be hidden....... Thanks....
