Hi,
This is a bit embarassing, but I'm still working with my Lightroom 5 which I bought about 6+ years ago. I haven't updated it in a long while since I noticed that Lightroom became a "pay every month" -thing. The question is, can I update my Lightroom (and to which version) without having to become a monthly subscriber? The only issue that I have now with my grand old LR is that it's not working with my RAW files anymore since I changed my 6 year old Macbook Pro to a newer model. It says "preview unavailable", even though everything worked with the same camera and same SD card just fine with my older laptop.
The only upgrade now is via monthly subscription or annual subscription.
There is No newer version available that is a perpetual license. All are subscription based.
There may be an Update to a newer version of LR 5 than you are currently running.
LR5 updated to 5.7.1 before LR CC 2015 and the last perpetual licensed version LR 6 came out. Both are the same program with different ways of activating it.
But LR 6 is no longer being sold.
