I downloaded Lightroom 6 installation file from my Orders page on Adobe site. When the installation starts, I have to login and enter the serial number. When I enter the serial number a new window appears with the response "serial number provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer.
Lightroom 6 is not among the options to select, only Ligtroom 1 through 5 (image attached).
I tried installing the trial version but when I ran it got the same problem with verification.
What should I try?

I don't think that is correct. You just need to enter the serial number for the earlier version, even if the earlier version software itself is not installed. I have done this several times when I got a new computer, I only installed the most recent version, and then provided serial numbers for an earlier version and the current version to activate the current version.

Your LR 6 license is an upgrade from a previous version, and in order to use the license key, you'll need to have a previous version (LR 1 through 5) installed on the computer. If you have a license key for 4 or 5 but not an installation disk, you can download and install them from here:
If you can't find your previous license key, you could try contacting Adobe support and pleading with them. But in general, Adobe support is hit or miss in solving problems.

Now, if the original poster doesn't have his earlier serial numbers, thats a different problem. I believe you can acces them at account.adobe.com (if you bought them directly from Adobe, or if you registered your purchase with Adobe).

Right, thanks for the correction. I forgot how that worked, but it's apparent from the screen shot.

Tnx dj_paige and johrellis. Installation of previous version would work but just entering the old serial number and selecting Lightroom 4 version from the current Lightroom 6 is way better. It looks it will work.
Unfortunatelly I already have two installations of Lightroom on two computers for which I don't have access any more. Now I'm waiting and hoping the support will be able to deactivate those two licences. for me.
