I think you got two things mixed up. If you can't upgrade to Lightroom Classic 10, then you should not get the option to try. Simply keep using Lightroom Classic 9. If the Develop module (and Map module) isn't working, then Lightroom is running in 'expired' mode. That means that you have cancelled your subscription or logged out and let it expire.

I haven't cancelled my subscription at all. I did update to V10 but it says
it is not compatible. Is there any way to go back to V9?

"says it is not compatible"

What are the exact words? What is your operating system version NUMBER?

You should be able to go back to Lightroom Classic 9.4, but first lets make sure you can't use 10.0. https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html

If you can't update Windows to 1903 or later, then you'd have to re-install 9.4, following the instructions I gave above.

Hello, I am a little bit confused about what you write above.

Do I understand it wright, that you want to say.

If you have Windows 1903 or higher then Lightrom 10 is not working and I have to go back to Lightroom 9.4

is this what you mean???

I experience the same, download went well but does not start.

I noticed that after trying to start the application it seems like nothing is happening, however I saw in the windows task manager there is indeed a process running (maybe this is the conversion from the catalog that is running) and that the application beware the screen will appear after this conversion is completed.
this is just a thought of my own.

Is there a reason that prevents updating your computer to  Win 10 V 1903.

Windows was installed via the organization I work for so I have to upgrade
through them which I will. But I had to use Lightroom to edit photos that
had to go out immediately.

My windows 10 is up to date as far as I known, here under the system data.

Version: 20 H2

And last Saturday I removed Lightroom from out of the Creative cloud

Lightroom, or Lightroom Classic?

When you reinstalled and it didn't work ... please explain exactly what you did and what happened that indicated it didn't work. Please quote all error messages word-for-word, unedited, complete.

Hello,

After the reinstallation Lightroom Classic ( I made an reinstall) keeping of
preferences.

When I launched the application the cursor changes for short while from
arrow into hourglass.

And then it seem nothing is happening but by coincidence I saw in the
windows task manager that an Lightroom classic process was running.

I kept it running for about seven hours ( on an i7 process based PC) nothing
was happened anymore, after seven hours I killed the process.

Uninstalling and reinstalling LrC does NOT remove the old Preferences file. Did you try resetting the LrC Preferences file as outlined at the link I provided?

Bingo,

It worked, but problaly due to starting and killing de LRC process several times my catalog file was corrupted fortaly I made a backup 3 days before the troubles started, that one installed and all my photo's back.

One more reason to make backup on regular times and special before you big changes.

Thnks.
