Had .tiff files in a folder on my desktop.  Imported them into PS to work on them.  Exported the final image to folder.  Tried to import the image to LR but received the following message.  Some import operations were not performed. An unknown error occured.(1)

This all worked yesterday and is not working today.  Both LR and PS are up to date.

What can I do?  What is error (1)?

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

Inquiry.

The original photo. The one you brought into PS. Did you not first import it into LrC?

If not, why not.

LrC is basically a Data Access Management program (DAM),  a database with a GUI interface, an internal RAW converter, and post processing tools. Normal usage is to catalog your photos, and then edit them. Normally when you want to bring up PS, you bring it up via LrC as in Edit in Photoshop.

just saying.

Please do not bring up Bridge, one would wonder why LrC if you mannage via Bridge. crossing my fingers.

Is that the exact complete word-for-word error message?

Error (1) usually means taht one file could not be imported. This can happen because either the file is not in a format that Lightroom Classic understands, or it means that the file has been corrupted somehow.

What is error (1)?

please share a screen shot of the error. I suspect (1) refers to one file failed, as in one photo could not be imported.
