Catalog issue

I get this error message when trying to open my catalog p- "The Lightroom catalog cannot be used because the parent folder(my catalog name) does not allow files to be created within it. This happens with every rendition of catalogs. What gives and whaty is the solution?

The parent folder does not allow write permission. Either change the permission or move the catalog to some other folder hierarchy where you do have write permission.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.
