I'm just wondering if there are any hard-coded limits to the number of photos you can have in a Lightroom catalog.
I'm using Lightroom Classic 9.2 and currently have more than 775,000 pictures in my existing catalog. I'm considering starting a new one or just trying to make sure I'm not coming up on some

There have been a number of reports over the years of catalogs with over 1 million photos. While catalog backups may be significantly slower with catalogs that size, the consensus is that LR generally performs well. The SQLite database used to implement the catalog is extremely robust, widely used in commercial software (including Mac OS, iOS, various network routers, etc.).
