Copy files to a different hard drive - how do I reconnect catalog?

Greetings

I’m looking to copy/move all of my photo files to a new hard drive. After I’ve done so, how do I reconnect the catalog to the files? And when I move the files, do I do that through the Finder, or is there a way to do that from inside Lightroom?

Thanks!

Two ways to move folders to a new hard drive (that is connected)-

I can not describe the method any better than Victoria Bampton at this link-

https://www.lightroomqueen.com/move-photos-another-hard-drive-leaving-catalog/

As suggested in the link-

Option One- is suggested as the better way if copying large numbers of files (eg. your whole photo library).

Option Two- is OK for moving smaller amounts, (eg. single folders, single files, etc.)

Copy, not move, the photos (but do not move photos or folders within the hierarchy). Reconnect as described in "Part 2 — Updating Folder Location" of this document: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders
