When I try to create a slideshow in Classic CC I always get a message "Preparing preview for slide number xx" and then it hangs.  Not always on the same slide number.  I had no problem when using Lightroom 5.

HELP!!!

What options are you setting - especially zoom to fill, pan and zoom. Are any of the images portrait orientation?

Thanks John.

I have now discovered that instead of just selecting a number of pictures for a slideshow I need to put them in a separate collection.

This seems to have solved the problem.

I have the same problem - and they're in a separate collection.  Any suggestions??

Do you have a mix of landscape and portrait format images in the slideshow Anne?

Yes I do - but I've created slideshows plenty of times in the past with no issues, so this is a complete mystery.

Sorry to be late to the party Anne but did you ever solve this? I came across this thread today because of the same problem and for me it turned out that I needed to clean up the filenames. Spaces were the problem I'd seen mentioned so I did them and while I was at it I removed any parentheses too - bad experimentation, but a quick result as it worked like a charm! hth
