Damage my computer message - Lightroom 4

I just upgraded my mac to catalina Ios.  Upon opening my lightroom 4 (i know it's old) for the first time since upgrading, I get an alert that says " Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 " will damage your computer. You should move it to trash".  Has anyone ever seen this.  I have all of my imported pictures on an external drive, but I am afraid of losing all of my edited work within the program.  Can I load a new version of Lightroom and pull all of my old files into it? HELP!

Lightroom v4 will appear to run on Catalina, however, because Catalina is exclusively 64bit OS, it is not possible to reinstall or uninstall.

It is not recommended to upgrade to Catalina if you intend to stay on an older version. Old Lr versions are no longer supported by Adobe.

And, yes, a few others have seen this notice.

You will not lose your catalog or photo files, but if you want to confidently run a Lightroom version then will need to start a subscription to the Photography plan 20Gb that includes Lightroom-Classic (currently v9.2.1- the lastest upgrade from your Lightroom v4)

If my memory is correct, Lightroom 4 came in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions, and the 32 bit version will not run on Catalina, and  the 64 bit version cannot be installed on Catalina. All of your previous work done in Lightroom 4 can indeed be transferred to the current version of Lightroom Classic, which you would need to subscribe to (it's part of the Photography Plan) at $9.99 (USA) per month, plus tax.
