As so many with me the new files CR3 from the Canon EOS R5 can't be read by Adobe LRC yet. Is there a timeline when I /we can aspect the upgrade from Adobe for LRC etc. ?!!  Can you Adobe give priority to this upgrade because the Canon R5 owners despereratly need this.

Thanks for doing your utmost so fare.

We are not Adobe in this forum, we are just Lightroom Classic users. Adobe never tells us the timeline. Usually, the next release will contain support for cameras that have just been released, but we cannot provide a guarantee either.

There is also a beta version of the Adobe DNG Converter that should work on Canon EOS R5 raw images. You can search the forum to find a link to this beta DNG converter.

You batch convert a whole folder of CR3 files. Then import the DNGs into Lightroom. Use one of these download links:

As far as a timeline is concerned, I would say it will probably be in the next Lightroom update since the DNG converter Beta version is supporting that camera now. But that is as close as anyone can just because Adobe never announces release dates. The update will be released when Adobe decides to release it, and you will know when everyone else knows.

Adobe usually releases a new version of LR every two months.  LR 9.3. came out on 6/16/2020, so it's likely but not guaranteed to see LR 9.4 in a week or two. Since the beta DNG Converter supports the R5 (as dj_paige pointed out), it's likely but not guaranteed that 9.4 will support it too.
