Develop mode won't appear

Hello! I just paid for and downloaded Lightroom. I also restarted my compter.

I cannot find the "develop mode" that I see people use in tutorials.

Also, when I use the white balance selector, the different RGB color selections don't come up.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Do the menu command Help > System Info -- does the first line say "Lightroom version" or "Lightroom Classic version"?

Did you install Lightroom, or did you install Lightroom Classic? If you are looking for the develop module you should have installed Lightroom Classic. It is the version that utilizes a local catalog and stores images in folders on your computer rather than in the cloud.
