Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

From your screen-clips, looking at the filmstrip thumbnails, they all show the exclamation mark [!] that indicates Lightroom-Classic has lost the link to the location of the original files. They are "Missing" in LrC terms.

Do not try to Import or Synchronize folders, instead re-link the Catalog to the correct location of the files with the method in these links

MISSING FILES & FOLDERS (Adobe link)

Thank you for your help. I am pretty much overwhelmed by this but will try to start working through it. Is it possible this happened when I did the LR update and did NOT hit the save option?

Can you take a screen capture of the Folders panel in Lightroom? That will help us determine where the photos were originally located. The Lightroom update would not move your photos so it shouldn't have anything to do with this.

Screen Shot 2020-11-05 at 6.39.58 PM.pngThis is the screen I get when I follow the link. All my LR photos are on the drive Projects_8t.  It appears this folder is now empty. (I do back up to Carbonite.) Very confused about what is happening.
