When will adobe update software in Lightroom Classic so I can download my images from the SD card I have in my new Canon R5 camera?

This camera is brand new and rated as one of the best in the world.  It takes spectacular pictures and I can't download them for adjustments in Lightroom Classic.  This is a big issue.  This camera is being used by professionals and advanced amateurs like me.

Please help us!!!!

This is getting old quickly.

Canon R5 release date 30 July 2020

Adobe Camera RAW 101, supported cameras: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

Camera manufacturers do not just give early copy's of new cameras to Adobe for study

Camera manufacturers do not share early tech data on new cameras with Adobe.

Until Adobe can get info from the camera manufacturer, they are pretty much in a hold pattern .

Brand new camera, need for new coding. If you are extremely lucky, maybe in next update. When? not a clue

We are nit Adobe employees on this website, just fellow users.

One bit of possible good news. A Beta copy of the DNG converter exists that supports the 5R, As such, that indicates Adobe has the data, the info, and is working on the issue. Working on the DNG converter may indicate they are working on the Camera RAW plugin for PS, and as such the internal code for Camera RAW in LrC.

So cross fingers.

Download DNG Converter 12.4 Beta:

Complain to Canon; they held this up, like they and other's have done in the past, by releasing a new proprietary raw file without providing a beta to anyone (Adobe and all other 3rd party raw converter software manufacturers) so they can update their software in a timely fashion.
