I'm not sure the best way to explain this, but when I imported it seemed to duplicate each image and also include the JPG files in the library, which it had never done before. Now I've got duplicates of both my DNG files back to back in my library, that's never happened before! Could it be a camera setting to bring them in? or did something happen with the last import?
Also as i've imported it has named the files not in sequential order... as if it's skipping over files from time to time? I'm guessing it's an issue with my camera somehow since it's the unmodified ARW files...?
It's very strange and i'm not even sure if I've figured out what happened... sorry if that was confusing AF.

Were you shooting RAW + JPEG?

As for missing RAW.
Are they also missing on the card?
Perhaps a few shots were taken in a mode that creates JPEG only, perhaps an accidental button/dial move on the camera.

Check whether your preference in Classic preferences in the general tab for "treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos" is checked or unchecked. It probably got checked at some point. Also check whether "Don't import suspected duplicates" is checked in the import pane. Classic is not very good at detecting duplicates I have noticed and if for example you import through a card reader at one time vs through the camera directly, it might not realize they are the same images.
