Edit history, flags and ratings lost after upgrading catalogue

My edits, edit history, flags, and ratings are gone after upgrading my catalogue. Help!!!

• version NUMBER of Lightroom Classic
• version NUMBER of your operating system
• the exact steps you followed to do the upgrade, step-by-step, leaving nothing out
