The above has suddenly appeared .

Full error message reads:

'An internal error has occured
invalid option '%s' to 'format' '

this happens when a file is intially clicked on in develop mode - click ok and it clears and then immediately reappears - click ok and it goes, then apply settings it appears again, click ok and it clears.

it doesn't appear to cause any other problems, editing can happen, export etc.

This on is Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7

it just damned annoying on every photo.

Initial troubleshooting steps:

- Try resetting LR's preferences:
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

LR sometimes soils its preferences file, and resetting it can fix all sorts of wonky behavior. That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help.

- See if a plugin might be causing this. Do File > Plug-in Manager, select each plug-in in turn, scroll to the Status panel, and click Disable.  Restart LR.

Thanks for the reply. The problem resolved itself the next time I used Lightroom. Whatever was causing the problem disappeared.
