So, increased security in Catalina. Outside of Lightroom, in the MACOS, bring up System Preferences. Select Security and Privacy. Select the Privact tab. Scroll down to Files and Folders. For Lightroom Classic and while you are at it for Photoshop, make sure all the boxes are checked.

Hi there,

Sorry that you're getting an error message "could not open because of a disc error" while editing images from Lightroom to Photoshop.

Which version of Photoshop and Lightroom are you using and on which operating system?

To start with troubleshooting, please checkout the steps mentioned in this article https://helpx.adobe.com/in/lightroom-classic/kb/edit-photoshop-command-missing-photoshop.html and let us knwo if that helps?

Thanks,

Akash

And, ignoring Lightroom, can you launch Photoshop in the normal manner?

Thank you for this post. It helped me after my recent upgrade to Big Sur (macOS 11.1).

To help others searching for the error in German first, my error message was:

  • Konnte xyz.jpg weil ein Volumefehler aufgetreten ist nicht öffnen.
