Import MOV File From Desktop

Import Error "File Contains No Video Frames"

 

I dragged the iPhone XS Video from Photos to my desktop, File Info on file in finder is

1920x1080

Codecs: Timed Metatdata, H.264, AAC

Color Profile: HD (1-1-1)

Duration 01:00

Encoding Software: 13.3.1

Size 83.9MB

 

System Mac Pro 2019, XDR Display, Catalina 10.15.3, LR Classic 9.2.1

In Catalina, you have to give apps permission to access files on your desktop. This is done normally through a popup when you first try to access files there. If you by accident denied that acces you can get the observed behavior. In the system preferences, go to security and privacy. Hit the privacy tab and scroll down to FIles and Folders. Now make sure to enable desktop access for Lightroom Classic. You can also give it full disk access to avoid any more issues. There might be another problem but this one is typical for Catalina installations.
