Having Issues importing RAW files from my Sony Ar7ii to Lightroom 9.2

Updated the program, and I keep getting the message that the files are not writable. First-time occurrence.

Very disheartening and humbling, realizing I do not know the application as much as I thought I did. Any help would be appreciated.

This is normally a permissions problem on the drive or folder for the destination of the "copy" import. It is very common after a Mac OS update.

In the Import dialog, verify that the "destination" panel is pointing to where it should be.

Using Mac Finder or Windows File Explorer, verify that you still have READ and WRITE access to the drive and folders.

Also, in the new Mac OS, there is a "security and privacy" app that needs to enable Lightroom permissions.

Mac or Windows? Which version?

Internal drive or external?

What is the exact wording of the error message?

Okay, that helps.

Your destination folder (as sepcified in the Import dialog box) is not a folder that you have write permission to. Sometimes the destination folder gets changed, and you need to change it back to whatever folder you were using when Importing worked properly.

In retrospect, when speaking in-line with organization, am I able to create a new folder, and giving it writing permissions would still help with my problem?

Maybe it helps.

It is all about where the Destination panel is pointing to.
