My desktop pc with LR classic is slowwwww.
Working with a set of 100-150 photos LR takes its time to modify brushes, make adjustments etc.
What is the limiting factor for Lightroom? Fast processor? Lots of RAM? Fast GUI?
What do you think of i5-10500 with 32 Gb RAM and GTX 1660 as GUI? Or should it be AMD Ryzen?
Computer stores have little understanding of Lightroom, think more about games and do not provide the right advice.
Thanks for your help

Brushing is usually limited by CPU (or GPU).
RAM above 16GB will not improve Lightroom Classic speed. Spend your money on the fastest CPU you can afford. Stay away from 4K and larger screens, as these put additional stress on your CPU and GPU and then, you can save money because you no longer need a top-of-the-line GPU.

Thanks DJ.
I have now new ideas and questions.
Should LR use or need any 4k or 5k screens?
I mean that for now pictures on the wall are limited by printers etc.

As I said, 4K or larger puts extra stress on your hardware. Lightroom Classic does work with 4K or larger screens, but without powerful GPU, some operations will be very slow. So I personally avoid 4K or larger screens.

Okay,
Thanks again. I will review my wishlist and find me a new desktop now.
