(getting the terminology correct) -down load them into a FOLDER on my hard drive.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

There is NO Download required!.   They are already "downloaded"!

You IMPORT using the 'ADD' option that 'adds' the scan images to the catalog Library and leaves the files in exactly the same {Family History 2}  Folder.

See Page 51 of the Help Reference ! HELP PDF   for "Import Photos from a Folder on a Hard Drive"

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 13.2 Photoshop 25.5, ACR 16.2, Lightroom 7.2, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 14.0.2, Windows-11.
