Hi,
does anyone know a way to apply a metadata preset on exported photos? Ideally I'd like to include/link the preset within an export preset. I'm pretty sure that Lightroom doesn't offer this out of the box, but I hope there could be an Add-On to achive this.
It would simplify the process of delivering photos to different agencies.
If you're experienced with command-line scripting, you could run a shell script as a Post-Processing application in your Export preset:
LR passes a single argument to the shell script, the path of the exported photo. The script could invoke the free command-line utility Exiftool to set whatever metadata fields you want.
If you're proficient at command-line scripting but not familiar with Exiftool, expect to spend several hours getting up to speed (it's not for the faint-of-heart).

You could have a look at this linked Plugin from Jeffrey Friedl http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/metadata-wrangler
It can be used to strip selected metadata or add new

Thank you for this hint. Unfortunatly this Plugin only offers really limited metadata fields to be overwritten/added. I have to overwrite basically every copyright/author related field.

Alternatively, ask the author of Metadata Wrangler to add a new feature, which is to apply a metadata preset. He's often responsive to user requests.

Thank you. I hoped for an easier solution. But yes, it works with a exiftool shell script. Took some time to get it right.
Only "problem" is that one always has to check for the metadata fieldnames that are affected by the settings in Lightroom (because Lightroom names them differently and for easier editing combines several fields in one).
OT: I don't realy get it, why Adobe neglects the library module and export so much. (And with the newer Lightroom non-Classic it got even worse instead of better.)

The Exiftool MWG composite tags make updating the multiple fields easier:
