How to search for virtual images

I am searching for the virtual images I made when editing different versions of the same image.  How can I search a folder to locate those images which are only virtual, and not a real file on my hard drive?  E.G.  as in searching for text, or file type, etc.  Thanks in advance!

Do you know the name of the file? If so you can search by name in Lightroom Classic and it should show all versions of it. You aren’t going to find a folder because it doesn’t exist on a disk drive.

It takes just a few seconds:

  1. Set the scope of your search (select one or more folders or collections).
  2. In the Loupe grid, click the Attribute library filter, and then click the Virtual Copies icon. (Also make sure no other filter criteria are enabled, unless you want them.)

That will hide all files except virtual copies.

When you want to see everything again, just click None in the filter bar.

Virtual copies are not on you hard drive, only the masters.  The virtual copy exists only in the Lightroom catalog.
