I am searching for the virtual images I made when editing different versions of the same image. How can I search a folder to locate those images which are only virtual, and not a real file on my hard drive? E.G. as in searching for text, or file type, etc. Thanks in advance!

1. Library Module > All Photos
2. View > Filter Bar > Attributes > Kind > Virtual Copies
3. Refine search with Filter Bar > Metadata

Do you know the name of the file? If so you can search by name in Lightroom Classic and it should show all versions of it. You aren’t going to find a folder because it doesn’t exist on a disk drive.

It takes just a few seconds:

That will hide all files except virtual copies.
When you want to see everything again, just click None in the filter bar.

Virtual copies are not on you hard drive, only the masters. The virtual copy exists only in the Lightroom catalog.
