I'd like separate long lat (GPS) fields in my metadata template in Lightroom 9

I'm digitising quite a large amount of old prints for an online project. I'm using the map module to add GPS so they can work with the online map.

Ideally I would have separate lines for long and lat, which is a request of the developer.

In previous editions of Lightoom I'd edit the lrtemplate to create new metadata fields. I can't do this with the move to XMP.

Any help much appreciated.

Only Develop presets moved to the .xmp format. All other LR presets are still in .lrtemplate format. You can find the .lrtemplate files for metadata presets by doing Preferences > Presets > Show All Other Lightroom Presets to open Finder / File Explorer and then going toe the Metadata Presets subfolder.

For example, here's the contents of the .lrtemplate for my "Clear GPS" preset:

s = {
	id = "AFB5C712-3D71-41D7-8F29-EF9D341F8161",
	internalName = "Clear GPS",
	title = "Clear GPS",
	type = "Metadata",
	value = {
		["com.adobe.GPS"] = "",
		uuid = "F5A079A4-AE6F-46DC-8E04-38317FAD029B",
	},
	version = 0,
}
