Images become grey when printing with border

Dear Community,

I hope you can help me finding the solution to a strange behaviour in the preview of the print module and the final prints.
As soon as I add a border to images they become less colorful and have lesser contrast.
Only at certain thickness values of the border they become normal again.

Is that a bug or is it me not understanding something?

Thanks in advance!

Ingo

With border I mean a colored contour around each image.

Hello can you upload a screen shot to show us?

Also what system (Mac OS or PC OS) are you using and hopefully Lightroom Classic - which version?

Have you tried printing both to see if there really is a difference?

I honestly am not sure... however it could be something to do with the print preview...

I am not seeing this in print preview on my Mac no matter the size of the border.

Hi,

I have just tried a direct comparison. It seems to be visible only in the preview.

First I am glad that you can print them with no difference.

What that is telling me, and from what Bob somrak said that on his machine there is no difference in the print preview, I am thinking that it may have something to do with the Epson printer you are using, in other words, in the print previews as related to the Epson. Or at least the Epson printer settings.

My only suggestion at this point,  would be to delete the Epson printer driver, then download and install the latest printer driver for your printer.

First, try disabling GPU in the preferences (Preformance). Any better?
If not, recalibrate and build a new ICC profile, the old one might be corrupted.
If you are using software/hardware for this task, be sure the software is set to build a matrix not LUT profile, Version 2 not Version 4 profile.

Thanks for all your ideas.
Unfortunately it happens with all of my printers and related profiles.
Four of them are canon and one is the Epson.
Also disabling the GPU didn't change anything.
