There are two features for doing this: both of those depend on saving the particular adjustments that you want to apply, into a preset.

The first feature involves defining / customising the default processing that you want to apply for all photos from a particular camera. Either for all such Raw photos, or separately, for JPG photos.

There are two features for doing this: both of those depend on saving the particular adjustments that you want to apply, into a preset.

The first feature involves defining / customising the default processing that you want to apply for all photos from a particular camera. Either for all such Raw photos, or separately, for JPG photos.

So Lightroom Classic already is applying its factory default processing (for a JPG, this factory default is to leave everything alone) but you can change that to your own liking. There is an option to make some aspects of this processing vary according to what ISO each photo has been taken at, but otherwise this does not individualise to the content of each photo. The exception is, you can have "Auto" exposure related settings applied, the same as when clicking the Auto button in the Basic panel. And the results of all that form your starting point for any further work.

The other feature, is that within the Import screen you can choose to Apply During Import
(right across this whole batch of photos, whether Raw JPG or mixed):

  • a chosen metadata preset (for example, filling in your name and copyright details) - this is likely the same every time
  • some keywords that you have typed into a box: different ones will be appropriate each time you import
  • a chosen Develop preset, applied cumulatively onto whatever else may be happening - this may differ for different imports, but since only nondestructive changes are ever applied, you can always reverse whatever this preset has done.
