Not only this, but I can no longer update LR through CC as CC has crashed and won't reopen.

I have tried steps from so many other posts/suggestions already and nothing fixes this. I don't have any anti-virus software on this mac. PLEASE HELP. This is very frustrating and I can't get any work done!

Same problem here. The issue appears to be related to the GPU acceleration - if I disable this I can use the Develop module - if I do not disable it the fans spin up, full CPU usage and a total freeze and restart of the Mac. Same kernel panic crashes happen in Adobe Camera Raw. As a photographer who has nearly half a million images in a Lightroom catalog this is problematic.

If turning OFF GPU works, it's a GPU bug and you need to contact the manufacturer or find out if there's an updated driver for it.
