I heard about some major changes in lightroom with update 10, so I go to check them out, but I still got verison 9.4 and I go to creative cloud and to check for any updates and for some reason I see nothing to imply my lightroom needs to be updated.

I restarted my Macbook and I see in creative cloud that Lightroom needs a update.
