Lightroom 2 not opening DNG files

Hi all,

looking for some help.

I use photoshop CS5 and lightroom 2 on a IMAC G5 20inch (2006 model) OSx 10.7.5

DNG files are opening fine in photoshop but in lightroom it is saying

"The file appears to be unsupported or damaged"

how can i fix this?

i dont want to upgrade photoshop or lightroom as it good for what i need.

appreciate some help

You probably need to use an earlier version of DNG. The DNG Converter asks for you to select a version for compatibility.

i'm using DNG version 8.4.0.199

like i said its working fine in photoshop,

Not the version of the converter software; the version of the compatibility of the DNG files that get created.

will a newer version work with Mac OS X 10.7.5?

What do you mean by a Newer Version? A Newer version of what? The DNG converter or LR.

As suggested by dj_paige in the DNG converter program you have to select an Older Version of ACR before converting.

Open LR 2 then go to the Help menu item and select About PS Lightroom and see what version of ACR it is using. Set the Converter to use that version of Camera RAW in the Preferences under the Compatibility section.

You can't use older version of OS X on newer versions, models, of Apple Mac computers. The oldest version of OS X that can be used on any Mac is the one it came with, None older that that version.
