Lightroom 3 Unable to view images

Hi! I am having an issue viewing the images in my folders in Lightroom 3. The content is obviously there, because I can click on them and export them as they are. Unfortunately, I am just unable to see them at all while in Lightroom. It just shows a blank gray square. Any help would be wonderful. I also tried to upload the newer Lightroom 6 that I purchased but when working with an Adobe agent we were unble to get the catolog to work. He says it may be a corrupted catolog. Any idea how to fix that issue? At this point I am considering removing Lightroom and trying to re-upload it from scratch. Unfortumately, all of the images I have taken for several years will disppear if I do that. I would rather fix the problem.

Thank you so much!

Please provide details of the operating system you are using at present. Lightroom 6 is no longer being supported but if your license has been registered with Adobe you should be able to to update to version 6.14 the last and final update released in Dec 2017.

The only versions now available as an upgrade are shown in the screen capture and require a monthly subscription.

This is where the Adobe Agent told me to post this question.

While I do see from your attached screenshot, that you are actual using very very old actual Lightroom v3, as opposed to Adobe Lightroom Desktop v3 (aka Lightroom Cloudy, or Lightroom POS by us very grumpy old men)

And hence, your post IS in the correct community.

Can you post your System Information as Lightroom reports it.

Following is for current LrC, but should be similar

___________________

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

Also, please consider editing your original post. In your edit, add your screenshot by using the insert picture option in the menu bar

Looking at that screenshot. From the file name(s) of the photo(s) selected, I have the impression that you are importing RAW files with JPEG, undo that

Another annoying inquiry.

What camera? Clearly a Canon, but what one?
