I have been using Lightroom slideshow for about 5 years with no problems.

I use a PC that is only about a year old with up to date software.

When I click on slideshow the program crashes.  I have tried shutting Lmy PC dowwn, trying to do  slideshow with different colelctions, and anything else I can think of.  Problem eprsists.

Hi there,

Sorry that Lightroom 5.7.1 is crashing when switching to the Slideshow module.

Would you mind turning off the GPU option from Lightroom's preferences? Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom and let us know if it helps?

Thanks,

Akash

I go to Edit > Preferences but do not see “Performance Tab.”

I would still like to try unchecking "Use Graphics Processor" but need to know precisely how to do it with Lightroom 5.7.1 on a Lenovo PC.

If it is the switch to the Slideshow module that crashes- There are a few suggestions at-

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/error-changing-modules-lightroom.html

Obviously Solution#1 is out- as you cannot upgrade v5.7.1

Solution#2 is well worth trying.

Solution#3 only if you have the 'Install' file and your Serial Numbers! (Adobe no longer have public links for downloads)

If the Slideshow Module opens but then the show will not run, there may be problems with missing or corrupt photos.

Regards. My System: Lr-Classic 9.4, Lightroom 3.4, Photoshop 2020 (21.2.1), Nikon DSLR, Windows-10.
